I learned from John what it means to treat people well and the loyalty that results. I learned to trust my senior people and expect the most from them. I find, like you, that people live up to their expectations.

John’s advice has been really an eye opener and makes a lot of sense; things that we know we already know but take lightly and not seriously. I will have to have a better and clearer objective for the future. It has been my problem that I have no clear solid objective or “the Tree at the end of the Field”. It is only when I solve this problem myself that I can take the next step.

Although my correspondence with you is infrequent, my reading of your column in AsiaOne is regular. I have recently been promoted to the position of manager for the engineering department that I have been serving in.
