With Instant Memory Prompt Signals (IMPS)
Our long-term memories are selective but usually good. It’s our short-term memories that so often fail us.
They fail to prompt us when something needs doing. They fail to remind us what needs doing. They don’t help us when we meet people out of the context in which we usually see them.
Memory is like a limb on a body. If you used it, it will continue working all your life. In fact, there is no reason why memory in the old should not be as good as, sometimes better, than in the young.
Good memory is based on association. One thing reminds you of another.
For example, if you have medicines to take, take them when you brush your teeth.
Since you brush your teeth morning and night, so you will be reminded to take your medicine morning and night. This course will teach you to assemble and use a set of INSTANT MEMORY PROMPT SIGNALS (IMPS). These will help you to remember things to do and who is who.
The MEMORY IMPROVEMENT COURSE consists of some fifteen written exercises that you do in your own home at your own pace. As you complete each exercise you email it to me.
I comment on it and email it back to you, together with the next exercise. At regular points in the course I comment more generally on, and help you more widely with, the development of your memory.
Don’t forget!
